Honda is exploring a radical solution to address the challenge of charging and parking electric trucks: In collaboration with Taisei Corporation and Taisei Rotec, it is developing a road wireless charging system based on magnetic coupling principles, allowing electric trucks to continuously charge while traveling at high speeds. The system integrates Honda's DC GA system, vehicle VA units, Taisei Corporation's DC power supply, and Taisei Rotec's construction. Demonstration testing on highways is expected to begin in the fiscal year 2027, with a test road to be constructed by the end of 2026 to verify long-term durability and charging performance.
