On September 30, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers issued a statement in response to recent media reports indicating that Germany and France are jointly urging the European Commission to devise a unilateral trade tool akin to the US's "Section 301 Investigation." Such a move has the potential to significantly affect China's automotive and battery sectors. The association expressed deep concern and formally stated its stance: China maintains that the proposed tool embodies classic protectionist and unilateralist practices. Not only will it fail to facilitate the transformation of the European automotive industry, but it will also erode Sino-European economic and trade relations and disrupt the global automotive industry chain and supply chain. Should the EU persist in implementing these measures, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers will resolutely back the Chinese government in taking the requisite steps to protect the lawful rights and interests of China's automotive industry and preserve a fair, equitable, and non-discriminatory international economic and trade environment.
