At its first extraordinary shareholders' meeting in 2026, BYD revealed that pre-orders for the Fangcheng S model, launched under the Fangchengbao brand on September 16, significantly outperformed expectations. The brand experienced a notable uptick in store visits, with monthly sales projected to exceed 10,000 units and potentially reach 15,000 units. During the meeting, BYD also outlined its ambitious overseas strategy, which includes the construction of 6,000 flash-charging stations internationally and the development of a comprehensive energy ecosystem encompassing charging networks, energy storage, and solar energy initiatives. To date, BYD has already established 10,000 flash-charging stations across 332 cities in China, with plans to expand this network to 20,000 stations nationwide by the end of the year. In terms of technological priorities, BYD underscored the necessity of mastering core technologies, highlighting that semiconductors and software have become increasingly vital—even more so than batteries—in the latter stages of the intelligent vehicle competition.
As the inaugural mid-to-large-sized pure electric sedan under the Fangchengbao brand, the Fangcheng S is competitively priced between RMB 189,900 and RMB 229,900, while the more performance-oriented Fangcheng S GT is priced between RMB 219,900 and RMB 239,900. Both models are available with either a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup or a dual-motor four-wheel-drive configuration. The four-wheel-drive variant boasts a combined power output of up to 490kW, achieving a 0-100km/h acceleration time of just 3.6 seconds. These vehicles are equipped with BYD's cutting-edge second-generation Blade Battery, available in two capacity options: 76.7kWh and 92.1kWh, offering a CLTC range spanning from 730km to 900km. The chassis incorporates the Yunjian-M magnetorheological suspension system and supports 800V flash-charging technology. Inside, the vehicles are lavishly appointed with a host of comfort features and are designed to seamlessly integrate with relevant IoT ecosystem devices.
