In August, Toyota Motor Corporation witnessed a second successive month of decline in its global sales and production figures. This downturn was primarily fueled by sluggish sales in key markets, including the United States and the Middle East, which cast a shadow over the company's performance last month. As the reigning global automotive leader, Toyota reported a 6.4% year-on-year drop in global sales, with 790,743 vehicles sold. Meanwhile, its production output also took a hit, decreasing by 5.9% year-on-year to 700,860 vehicles. Diving deeper into the numbers, sales in the Chinese market plummeted by 22.8%, while the United States, Toyota's largest market, saw a 4.4% decline. The Middle East region fared even worse, with sales nose-diving by 37.5%. In stark contrast, the Japanese market emerged as a beacon of hope, registering a 9.1% growth.
