Following a mid-cycle revamp, Volkswagen's initial ID.3 GTX has been rebranded as the ID.3 GTI, with a planned European launch in spring 2027. This marks a pivotal moment in Volkswagen's journey towards electrification. This car stands as the most formidable GTI model in Volkswagen's storied history, boasting an impressive maximum power output of 322 horsepower and a peak torque of 545 Nm. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 5.6 seconds, with its top speed capped at 200 km/h. Constructed on the cutting-edge MEB+ platform, the ID.3 GTI adopts a rear-mounted single-motor configuration, marking a historic milestone as Volkswagen's inaugural rear-wheel-drive GTI model.

The vehicle is outfitted with a 79 kWh battery pack, providing an estimated WLTP driving range of 601 kilometers. It supports 183 kW DC rapid charging, enabling the battery to replenish from 10% to 80% in a swift 29 minutes.

Aesthetically, the ID.3 GTI integrates distinctive GTI design cues, while the interior has undergone enhancements to bolster both practicality and a sporty vibe. Moreover, the vehicle incorporates a dedicated GTI driving mode that facilitates launch control and can mimic the engine roar of its gasoline-powered counterpart. It's worth mentioning that the gasoline-powered Golf GTI will remain available for purchase.
