According to a report by Electrek, Tesla's driver-assistance system encountered an unprecedented number of accidents in a single month in July 2026. A staggering 236 accident reports were filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), encompassing four fatal incidents. It's worth noting that prior to this, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) had confirmed that in the fatal Tesla crash that occurred in Texas in June, the driver had fully depressed the accelerator pedal to 100%, and the Full Self-Driving (FSD) system was not deemed responsible for the accident.
