Volvo recently unveiled the latest upgrade plans for the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) versions of its mid-to-large-sized SUV mainstays, the XC60 and XC90. Thanks to the application of a new generation of high-energy-density power battery packs and optimized electronic control systems, the all-electric range of both models has been significantly extended, setting new highs within Volvo's PHEV lineup and breaking records for all-electric range among luxury PHEV SUVs in the same class.
