On September 14, Li Xiang, the CEO of Li Auto, made a post stating that the current trend of flagship SUVs increasing in size is merely a transitional phase. He believes that the inherent advantages of pure electric architecture will bring an end to this relentless pursuit of larger vehicle dimensions.

Li Xiang elaborated that in the age of pure electric vehicles, the compact nature of electric motors and the shorter front overhangs create additional interior space that can be reclaimed for passenger comfort. Moreover, the flat placement of the battery on the chassis maintains a level floor, eliminating the necessity to sacrifice vehicle height for increased headroom. Consequently, pure electric vehicles can achieve a more compact exterior design while still offering the same spacious interior as their fuel-powered counterparts.
