Volkswagen has officially launched its latest innovation—the Mission Efficiency concept car, engineered atop the cutting-edge MEB+ platform. Leveraging the same motor and battery systems as the ID. Polo, this front-wheel-drive marvel prioritizes aerodynamic excellence, lightweight construction, and minimized energy wastage. It has set three remarkable benchmarks: an astonishingly low drag coefficient of 0.158, positioning it among the most aerodynamically efficient road-legal vehicles globally; a record-breaking minimum energy consumption of just 6.48kWh per 100 kilometers under specified conditions; and an impressive real-world test range of 1,278.36 kilometers on a single charge, with a theoretical total range surpassing 1,400 kilometers. The car’s design is characterized by its low-slung, streamlined coupe silhouette, complemented by active cooling vents, specially designed wheel rim airflow structures, low-rolling-resistance tires, comprehensive underbody coverage, and a 170mm shortened rear axle—all meticulously crafted to enhance airflow efficiency.
