On August 31, Nissan Motor and Honda Motor issued a joint statement announcing that they have signed a joint development agreement aimed at standardizing core technologies for next-generation software-defined vehicles (SDVs), including multiple electronic control units (ECUs), in-vehicle operating systems, key parts of middleware, and vehicle control software running on these ECUs. The two companies plan to equip next-generation models with this system architecture starting from the fiscal year 2029.
