FAW Group has lately accomplished the development and installation of a perovskite photovoltaic sunroof prototype on a vehicle. When adequately exposed to sunlight, this prototype is capable of generating close to 300 watts of electricity instantaneously and roughly 400 kWh on an annual basis. This amount of electricity is sufficient to meet the power requirements of low-voltage components, such as parking air conditioners. Looking ahead, if photovoltaic technology is seamlessly integrated throughout the entire body of passenger vehicles, the peak daily electricity generation could soar to 10 kWh. This would translate to an additional 80 kilometers of driving range at no extra cost, comfortably covering over 85% of the daily travel demands of domestic users.
