The BMW iX5 M is set to make its grand debut in 2027, positioning itself as BMW's premier, all-electric, high-performance SUV. This vehicle will bid farewell to its original 4.4L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, embracing instead a fully electric powertrain. Regarding the front-end design, it will boast a broader and flatter kidney grille, accompanied by narrower headlights that are expected to feature unique lighting patterns. Notable transformations are also anticipated in the chassis and powertrain, with the maximum battery capacity potentially reaching up to 141kWh and a peak charging power of 460kW. It is predicted to be outfitted with a quad-motor system, enabling independent and seamless adjustment of driving force for each wheel, thus delivering unparalleled performance. In terms of driving range, it is expected to surpass 640km, albeit slightly less than the approximately 845km offered by the standard iX5. At present, the test vehicle still incorporates temporary components, and the final design of the production model remains under wraps. The starting price is projected to exceed £100,000.
