On August 25, news emerged that Honda Motor is contemplating the construction of a new factory within the United States. Given Honda's ambition to broaden its range of gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles starting from 2030, a senior executive from the company emphasized the necessity for further production capacity expansion. This strategic move follows Honda's earlier decision this year to scrap plans for three all-electric vehicle models intended for the U.S. market. Honda has set a target to introduce 15 new hybrid models by March 2030, with a primary focus on the North American market. Honda's Executive Vice President remarked, "In order to satisfy customer demand, it is imperative that we augment our production capacity, and locating the new factory in North America would be a strategic fit."
