Tesla is set to hold an exclusive “Tesla Semi Rollout” event in Sparks, Nevada, next month to commemorate the completion and official launch of its new, dedicated 1.7 million-square-foot Semi factory. The celebration will include factory tours and opportunities for test drives of the Tesla Semi. Originally announced in 2017, the project has encountered several delays. Now, mass production is officially slated to begin in March 2026, with large-scale production set to kick off on April 29. The factory is engineered to produce up to 50,000 units annually.

This upcoming event follows Tesla’s tradition of marking production milestones, signaling that the production line is now ready for public viewing and that capacity scaling is likely approaching targeted levels. Previously, Tesla provided pre-production Semi models to a select group of customers—such as Pepsi—for real-world testing. This rollout event also serves as an indication to customers with reservations that wider deliveries are on the horizon.

Looking ahead, it will be interesting to monitor whether Tesla reopens orders for the Semi, the progress of its Megacharger charging network rollout, and any enhancements made to the second-generation Semi model.
