On August 21, Tesla initiated a recall of nearly 3 million vehicles in China, citing safety concerns related to door handles and flaws in the driving monitoring system. The recall encompasses major models, including the Model 3, Y, S, and X, marking one of the most extensive single-brand recalls in the annals of China's automotive sector. During the recall process, it was discovered that the emergency mechanical handles within the vehicles closely resembled the interior color scheme, rendering them challenging to locate and operate. This posed a potential risk, as it could impede escape and rescue efforts in critical situations. To address these issues, Tesla plans to affix warning labels to the affected vehicles and implement window control software upgrades via OTA technology. Furthermore, Tesla also recalled around 2.74 million domestically manufactured Model 3 and Y vehicles due to inadequate attention monitoring when the assisted steering function is engaged. Alongside Tesla, eight other automotive manufacturers also commenced recalls, collectively affecting 4.3 million vehicles. Consequently, Tesla's stock price experienced a 2.2% decline.
