In the first seven months of 2026, China’s automobile exports soared to USD 110.8 billion, representing a 55% year-on-year surge, with projections suggesting a total exceeding USD 210.8 billion for the entire year. Passenger cars and new energy vehicle (NEV) models have emerged as the main engines of export growth, with particularly strong performance in ship exports. Meanwhile, automotive parts exports have maintained steady, albeit moderate, growth. Currently, independent-brand complete vehicles have largely withdrawn from the U.S. market, and experts advise parts companies to align with the globalization strategy of complete vehicles and establish independent supply chains. Additionally, the motorcycle industry has undergone a significant transformation, with electric motorcycle exports experiencing explosive growth. The dominance of automobile exports in merchandise trade has been solidified, with electric passenger vehicles, ships, and integrated circuits forming a “dual-wheel drive” to propel the export structure toward higher value-added directions.
