On August 6 (local time), the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rolled out an airworthiness directive. This directive compels 471 airline operators to carry out inspections on specific Boeing 737 Max aircraft (encompassing models 8, 9, and 8200) to check for component cracks. The aim is to safeguard the structural integrity of these planes. The inspection focuses on the structural reinforcement components of the forward door frame and fuselage panels. This directive will come into force on September 10. Boeing has announced that it has already kicked off engineering analysis and is delving into improvement measures.
