On August 6, news emerged that the Shanghai Municipal Cyberspace Administration, in concert with the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Shanghai Municipal Market Regulation Bureau, and the Cybersecurity Division of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, has taken the helm in guiding the Shanghai Automobile Sales Industry Association and the Shanghai Auto Parts Industry Association. Together, they have formulated the Compliance Pact for Marketing Strategies and Online Information Dissemination in Shanghai's Automotive Industry. This pact is designed to foster self-discipline among automobile enterprises and dealers, while also standardizing the dissemination of online information within the automotive sector.
The pact specifically targets the risks associated with online marketing in the automotive industry, outlining clear self-regulatory guidelines in key areas such as pricing strategies, online information dissemination, sales practices, and customer service. It serves as a clarion call to vehicle manufacturers, automobile dealers, and all pertinent market players, urging them to uphold the fundamental principles of compliant operations. By doing so, they can collectively preserve a market environment that is both fair and competitive, as well as an online space that is transparent and wholesome.
