Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released a notice, announcing the repeal of policy criteria concerning the 'cascade utilization' of used power batteries sourced from new energy vehicles, along with the cessation of the announcement-based management system for pertinent enterprises. Notably, a cohort of 100 'cascade utilization' firms, encompassing industry leaders like BYD, SVOLT Energy, and Gotion High-Tech, has been expunged from the industry compliance roster. This strategic policy shift will dismantle the dedicated regulatory framework for cascade utilization, propelling a significant structural transformation within the sector.
