Hainan Expressway has disclosed that its fully-owned subsidiary, Hainan Provincial Public Information Network Co., Ltd., has entered into an agreement with Hainan Smart Transportation Industry Development Co., Ltd. The purpose of this agreement is to acquire a 100% stake in Hainan Traffic Control Technology Co., Ltd. for a sum of ¥36.1038 million. It is noteworthy that Smart Transportation stands as a fully-owned subsidiary of Hainan Expressway's controlling shareholder. The core business of Traffic Control Technology is well-aligned with Hainan Expressway's strategic vision of becoming a 'technology-driven, comprehensive transportation services group.' This strategic acquisition is poised to enable Hainan Expressway to make significant inroads into the digital economy and smart transportation sectors, thereby bolstering its competitive edge in the digital transportation landscape and fostering fresh avenues for business expansion. Furthermore, with the ongoing development of the Hainan Free Trade Port, the imperative for intelligent transportation upgrades has grown more pressing. Traffic Control Technology is involved in projects such as the cloud control center for the island-circling tourist highway and the provincial tunnel management system, which are closely in line with the regional development trajectory and are anticipated to unlock new business growth prospects for Hainan Expressway.
