Data shows that in the next eight years, nearly 20 million new energy vehicles in China will gradually lose their battery warranties, with 980,000 vehicles losing coverage by 2028 and increasing to 7.2 million by 2032. Early new energy vehicles generally face battery degradation issues, and the cost of replacing batteries from the original manufacturer is exorbitant. For some older vehicles, the cost of battery replacement even exceeds the residual value of the vehicle. Commercial vehicles experience faster battery wear due to high driving intensity, making the range issue even more pronounced.
