On August 2, Yonhap News Agency reported that Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors, two leading South Korean automakers, declared on Sunday that they had sold more than 100,000 electric vehicles in Europe during the first half of the year. This achievement further cements their strong foothold in the European market. Data indicates that a total of 131,032 electric vehicles were sold during this period, marking a significant year-on-year increase of 41.8%, up from 92,365 units sold in the same period last year. The two companies anticipate that, if the current sales momentum persists, their annual sales will surpass 200,000 units for the first time since their entry into the European market in 2014. It is noteworthy that as of May this year, their cumulative sales of electric vehicles in Europe have exceeded the 1 million unit milestone.
