On July 29, a reporter obtained information from the China Automotive Standardization Institute, revealing that the National Technical Committee for Auto Standardization, under the guidance of relevant regulatory bodies, is currently in the process of revising the GB4785 standard, titled "Installation Requirements for External Lighting and Light Signaling Devices of Motor Vehicles and Their Trailers." Additionally, the committee is intensifying its scrutiny of access reviews and testing verification processes for "innovative and daring" product designs, aiming to regulate the installation of vehicle lighting and enhance overall automotive safety performance. Presently, certain vehicles employ "small blue lights" to indicate the status of driving assistance systems; however, there have been instances of misuse that pose significant safety hazards. At night, these "small blue lights" can easily cause glare to other road users, thereby impeding the driver's ability to accurately assess road conditions. Furthermore, vehicles equipped with such lights are more susceptible to being cut off in traffic and followed at dangerously close distances, thereby escalating the potential for traffic-related risks.
