On July 13th, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) released an analysis highlighting the structural differentiation within the passenger vehicle market in June 2026. The report noted that while domestic demand faced pressures, exports experienced rapid growth. The fuel vehicle segment witnessed a notable downturn, attributed to fluctuations in high oil prices. In contrast, new energy vehicles continued their steady ascent, further bolstering their market share. During that month, passenger vehicle production and sales figures stood at 2.373 million and 2.402 million units, respectively, representing month-on-month increases of 5.9% and 6.6%, but year-on-year decreases of 2.8% and 5.3%. From January to June 2026, cumulative production and sales of passenger vehicles reached 12.721 million and 12.72 million units, respectively, marking year-on-year declines of 5.9% and 6%.
