On Thursday, Volvo Cars disclosed that its worldwide sales volume hit 171,501 units in the second quarter, which concluded at the end of June, marking a 5.6% year-on-year (YoY) decline. Notably, within this figure, sales of electric models (encompassing both pure electric and plug-in hybrid variants) experienced a 10% YoY uptick, while sales of pure electric vehicles specifically soared by 14% YoY.
