Commencing on July 1, owners of new energy vehicles in Wuhan, Hubei Province, are presented with a lucrative opportunity—they can now generate income by selling electricity through their privately-owned charging stations. To be eligible, owners must ensure that their charging stations are equipped with vehicle-grid interaction capabilities and are duly connected to the designated platform. By capitalizing on the price disparities between peak and off-peak hours, purchasing electricity at lower rates and selling it at higher ones, they stand to make a net profit of roughly 0.5 yuan per kilowatt-hour. In the past, vehicle-grid interaction was exclusively carried out at select public charging stations.
