On June 26th, reports surfaced indicating that Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd., along with Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd., has formally submitted a recall proposal to the State Administration for Market Regulation. This action is in strict compliance with the "Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automotive Products" and its corresponding enforcement guidelines. Mercedes-Benz (China) is set to commence a recall on December 2, 2026, targeting a specific batch of imported S-Class models produced from October 2, 2017, to December 11, 2019, encompassing a total of 24,832 units. Concurrently, Beijing Benz has scheduled a recall for the same date, focusing on a selection of domestically-produced E-Class vehicles manufactured between October 1, 2017, and February 14, 2019, with a total of 763 units affected.
