Recently, the official website of the Trademark Office under the National Intellectual Property Administration revealed that Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.'s application for the 'World' trademark (Application No. 79417835), intended for use on Class 12 goods, has been preliminarily approved. This approval was officially announced on May 13, 2026. The range of goods covered by this trademark includes electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, electric cars, automobile instrument panels, and photographic drones, among others. During the announcement period, the public has the right to raise objections. The objection period spans from May 14, 2026, to August 13, 2026. Previously, Huawei's application faced rejection due to the existence of ten similar prior trademarks. However, through a thorough review of each rejection reason, Huawei successfully overcame these obstacles and ultimately secured preliminary approval. At present, Huawei stands as the sole applicant in the same category to have reached the preliminary approval stage.
