Legally, wearing a seat belt while driving is a must; neglecting to do so can lead to fines and the accumulation of penalty points. Simultaneously, the safety of autonomous driving systems has become a focal point of concern. Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology unveiled the draft for approval of the "Safety Requirements for Autonomous Driving Systems in Intelligent Connected Vehicles," signifying China's inaugural mandatory national standard pertaining to autonomous driving. This standard mandates that the safety performance of autonomous driving systems must, at a minimum, be on par with that of a competent and vigilant driver. Furthermore, it expressly forbids the deactivation of autonomous driving functions during critical moments preceding an accident, thereby safeguarding driving safety.
