On June 22, 2025, Lucid Motors, an electric vehicle manufacturer based in the United States, declared that it would lay off 18% of its workforce. This decision was made under the guidance of the newly appointed CEO, Silvio Napoli, and is expected to impact around 1,500 employees. This move represents yet another significant restructuring effort, following a 12% reduction in staff just four months prior. The primary objective of these layoffs is to overhaul the company's organizational structure and boost operational efficiency.

In tandem with the workforce reduction, Lucid has also decided to eliminate the second shift at its Casa Grande factory in Arizona. This strategic move is anticipated to result in annual cost savings of approximately $158 million. The company aims to finalize its restructuring plan by the third quarter of 2025.

Looking ahead, Lucid is gearing up to introduce its inaugural mass-market model, the Lucid Cosmos SUV, which will be priced below $50,000. Additionally, the company has outlined plans to partner with Uber and Nuro to jointly develop premium Robotaxi services.
