Up to the present moment, NIO has successfully set up 8,996 battery swap and charging stations across the country. This extensive network comprises 3,923 battery swap stations, 5,073 charging stations, and 29,225 charging piles, cumulatively facilitating over 110 million battery swaps. Over the course of its 11-year existence, the company has made substantial investments in research and development, totaling more than RMB 68.8 billion, with over RMB 20 billion earmarked specifically for the battery swap and charging sectors. NIO has laid out plans to commence the deployment of its fifth-generation battery swap stations in the third quarter of 2026. These cutting-edge stations are designed to be compatible with three distinct brands—NIO, LEITO, and Firefly—and will extend support to Firefly model users. Previously, NIO had set an ambitious target to construct at least 1,000 fifth-generation battery swap stations by 2026.
