Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, pointed out that despite challenges such as high oil prices and tight shipping capacity, China's automobile exports continued to grow strongly in May 2026. From January to May, a cumulative total of 4.25 million vehicles were exported, representing a year-on-year increase of 49% and marking a recent high. Notably, in May alone, 988,000 vehicles were exported, up 42% year-on-year and also showing a month-on-month increase, nearing the one million mark and becoming a key driver of overall growth.
