At present, the majority of automakers across the globe are hastening their shift towards fully electric vehicles (EVs). However, Toyota's leadership continues to publicly champion the development path of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles—those powered by traditional fuels—a stance that stands in stark contrast to the prevailing industry trend. Recently, Toyota's Chairman, Akio Toyoda, expressed in an interview his concern that the dwindling support for ICE vehicles among industry professionals does not bode well for the industry's robust development. He conveyed his disappointment with the industry's widespread, unquestioning rush towards a full transition to electric vehicles, suggesting that such a move may overlook important considerations and potential drawbacks.
