Stellantis Deepens Cooperation with China's Leapmotor to Advance European EV Expansion

In 2023, Stellantis acquired approximately a 20% stake in Chinese electric vehicle company Leapmotor and established a joint venture, Leapmotor International, to handle the overseas sales and production of Leapmotor models. The latest plan released on May 8th reveals that the two sides will expand their cooperation, including adding production lines at a Spanish factory to manufacture Opel C-segment SUVs, with the Leapmotor B10 model potentially starting production at the plant in 2026. Additionally, the two sides will also conduct joint procurement through the joint venture to enhance price competitiveness and accelerate the launch of new models.
