He will directly report to Lei Jun, the CEO of the Group and the President of the Automotive Division, while maintaining his concurrent role as Chief of Staff of the Automotive Division. Song Gang boasts a distinguished background, having previously served at Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory, where he played a pivotal role in spearheading the plant's construction and enhancing its production capacity. In 2024, he transitioned to Envision Energy before joining Xiaomi's Automotive Division as Vice President and Chief of Staff in April of this year. This strategic reshuffle is designed to bolster Xiaomi Auto's prowess in production manufacturing and smart manufacturing.
