At the 20th Russian Venture Forum held in Kazan, Tupolev, a subsidiary of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC)—which falls under the umbrella of Rostec, the Russian state technology group—informally presented a model of its ongoing long-range wide-body aircraft project, the Tu-454, for the first time. This aircraft model is designed to compete in the same market segment as the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 XWB, with the aim of addressing the existing gap in this category within the Russian civil aviation sector. Currently, the Tu-454 is envisioned to be equipped with two next-generation PD-26 turbofan engines. Nevertheless, specific technical details and the current status of the project's development remain undisclosed, as it is still in the conceptual and model design phase.
