NIO has officially declared that its latest flagship SUV, the NIO ES9, will make its grand entrance at 19:00 on April 9. This vehicle stands as the pinnacle of NIO's eleven-year journey of systemic innovation and is poised to lead the charge in the intelligent electric executive flagship SUV segment. The NIO ES9 successfully completed its declaration process with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in January 2026 and is anticipated to hit the market by the end of May, with customer deliveries commencing on June 1. As the largest model in NIO's current lineup, it boasts impressive dimensions, with an expected length, width, and height of 5365mm, 2029mm, and 1870mm, respectively, and a wheelbase stretching to 3250mm. The ES9 is rumored to offer two versatile seating arrangements: a 6-seat and a 7-seat layout, complemented by a striking "Sky Island" sunroof design.

From a technological standpoint, the NIO ES9 is packed with numerous cutting-edge features. It showcases a full-range 900V high-voltage architecture, the sophisticated Tianxing intelligent chassis system, and the AQUILA ultra-sensing system, which is equipped with three LiDAR sensors for unparalleled precision. Additionally, it houses NIO's self-developed 5nm NIO Neural NX9031 intelligent driving chip, setting a new benchmark in automotive intelligence. In terms of powertrain, the ES9 is expected to be powered by a front-and-rear dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, with its battery potentially sourced from CATL's high-capacity 102kWh ternary lithium battery. The CLTC all-electric range will offer three distinct options, ensuring flexibility for different driving needs. Moreover, it is anticipated to retain NIO's signature 3-minute battery swap capability and the lightning-fast 600kW ultra-fast charging energy replenishment system, further solidifying its position as a leader in the electric vehicle market.
