On April 1, Hainan Power Grid Corporation announced that the charging volume for new energy vehicles in Hainan Province soared to over 700 million kilowatt-hours in the first quarter of this year, representing a nearly 40% increase compared to the same period last year. The charging and battery swap network maintained robust operational efficiency, providing strong support for eco-friendly travel in sectors such as tourism, consumption, and transportation.
The implementation of full-island customs clearance operations for the Hainan Free Trade Port, coupled with a surge in cultural and tourism activities during the Spring Festival, rising fuel prices, and the accelerated industrial deployment of new energy heavy-duty trucks, collectively drove the growth of green travel trends in Hainan. This, in turn, injected green momentum into the high-quality development of the Free Trade Port.
According to data from Hainan's unified charging and battery swap platform, the cumulative number of charging sessions at new energy vehicle charging stations across the province surpassed 12 million in the first quarter, averaging over 120,000 sessions per day. Presently, the platform boasts over 300,000 registered users, integrates 5,855 charging stations, 95 battery swap stations, and approximately 73,000 charging guns. It has achieved comprehensive coverage of public charging piles (Note: The term "pile" is retained as-is in HTML for consistency with the original data display, though "piles" would be the correct plural form in standard English) throughout Hainan Province, essentially enabling the convenient service of "one app for travel across the entire province."
