Recently, a significant number of Roboride autonomous taxis in Wuhan encountered a series of malfunctions, abruptly halting while on the move. Several passengers recounted that their vehicles came to an unexpected stop in the midst of the road. Despite reaching out to staff and customer service, they did not receive prompt or effective assistance. According to online reports, these vehicle malfunctions triggered a spate of accidents, leading to traffic congestion stretching several kilometers on the Third Ring Road. Dashcam recordings revealed vehicles at a standstill on the fast lane of the Second Ring Road, with subsequent rear-end collisions taking place. The traffic police department clarified that the malfunctions stemmed from a systemic issue within the Roboride platform, impacting around 100 vehicles. Fortunately, all stranded passengers were swiftly rescued. As of now, Roboride has not issued any official response regarding the incident.
