On March 31, the China Automobile Dealers Association unveiled the latest findings from its Vehicle Inventory Alert Index (VIA) survey. The data revealed that, in March 2026, the inventory alert index for auto dealers across China climbed to 57.5%, reflecting a 2.9 percentage point increase compared to the same period the previous year and a 1.3 percentage point uptick from the preceding month. This index, surpassing the critical threshold, signals a heightened inventory burden for auto dealers.
