The new brand “FREELANDER,” a collaborative venture between Chery Automobile and Jaguar Land Rover, is slated for an official launch on March 31, alongside the unveiling of its inaugural model. Today, the brand announced its official partnership with Huawei's ADS Intelligent Automotive Solution, hinting that the new model will incorporate Huawei's 896-line dual-light-path LiDAR technology. This advancement is set to boost the vehicle's recognition accuracy and response speed, particularly in challenging driving conditions. Earlier leaks have indicated that the key selling points, as displayed on the billboards at FREELANDER’s brand channel stores, include partnerships with Huawei ADS, CATL, Qualcomm, and others. Built on Chery's E0X pure electric platform, the new model will exceed 5.1 meters in length and offer a 2+2+2 six-seat configuration, effectively bridging the product gap for joint venture offerings. Furthermore, Chery Jaguar Land Rover's Changshu plant has earmarked an investment of 3 billion yuan to introduce multiple new models, with production slated to begin in 2026.
