On March 26, Alibaba’s AI assistant, QianWen, was seamlessly integrated into the intelligent cockpit system of Hongqi vehicles, marking its first appearance in the Hongqi HS6 PHEV model. This milestone represents QianWen’s expansion into the more intricate automotive environment, building on its previous integration into AI-powered glasses. Notably, it signifies the first instance of a general-purpose AI assistant being fully deployed in this domain.

Once integrated into vehicles, QianWen empowers users to accomplish multi-faceted tasks with a single voice command. The system is capable of simultaneously interpreting diverse user needs—such as navigation, dining recommendations, and time-sensitive requests—and crafting a comprehensive travel itinerary. This is achieved by leveraging real-time data on traffic conditions, weather forecasts, business operating hours, and other relevant factors. Looking ahead, QianWen is set to incorporate additional functionalities from Alibaba’s ecosystem, including instant retail services, ticket reservations, and travel-related offerings.
