The newly launched next-generation Xiaomi SU7 boasts a significant enhancement in its door handle design, integrating a triple safety redundancy system. This system comprises an externally mounted, independently operable mechanical handle that automatically unlocks within 0.3 seconds post-collision; an internal redundant backup power supply for the door locks, ensuring multiple unlocking options even if the primary power source fails; and a purely mechanical emergency mechanism inside the vehicle, enabling door opening without the need for electronic control. This innovative design has endured 18 months of rigorous testing under extreme conditions, fully adhering to the new national standards set to be enforced in 2027. As a result, it has elevated the door opening success rate to an impressive 99.97%. Lei Jun underscored that safety design should transcend industry norms. This upgrade directly tackles the prevalent safety concerns in smart vehicles and reshapes industry safety standards through the pioneering fusion of mechanical and electronic systems.
