In a bid to stimulate consumer spending, on the evening of March 21, several regions across Jiangsu province, including major cities like Nanjing and Suzhou, unveiled a series of subsidy policies aimed at encouraging the purchase of new cars. These policies, which adhere to a unified provincial framework, offer tiered subsidies to individual consumers buying new small and micro passenger vehicles for personal use. It's important to note that eligible new energy vehicle models must be listed in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) tax-exempt catalog. Moreover, these subsidies are designed to complement rather than overlap with other provincial incentives, such as those for vehicle scrapping and upgrading. Notably, regions like Zhenjiang and Xuzhou have the flexibility to stack additional manufacturer discounts on top of these subsidies, further enhancing the appeal for potential car buyers.
