On March 17, the US government stated that Tesla and LG Energy had signed a supply agreement to build a $4.3 billion lithium iron phosphate battery factory in Lansing, Michigan. The batteries produced will be used in Tesla's Houston Megapack 3 energy storage system, with production expected to commence in 2027.
