BMW’s upcoming i3 (with the codename NA0) is poised to make its grand entrance on March 18. As the inaugural sedan within BMW’s Neue Klasse lineup and the second model in the next-generation pure electric vehicle range, it is crafted on the foundation of the Neue Klasse concept car. This design preserves the iconic BMW aesthetic, featuring a more streamlined kidney-shaped grille at the front and distinctive "Venom-inspired" taillights at the rear.
The vehicle boasts BMW’s cutting-edge sixth-generation eDrive electric propulsion technology and comes standard with an 800V high-voltage electrical system across all its variants. Initially, a 50 xDrive variant will be introduced, with additional variants set to follow in due course.
The interior design takes cues from the new iX3, incorporating a generous use of recycled materials. From an intelligence perspective, the i3 is outfitted with a "Driving Control Super Brain," which significantly enhances response speed by tenfold. The pre-production model rolled off the assembly line in early February, with overseas mass production and market introduction anticipated for the summer of 2026. The domestically manufactured long-wheelbase version is expected to make its debut by the end of the year and hit the market in 2027.
