On March 17, 2026, at the GTC conference, NVIDIA made an announcement that it would partner with BYD, Geely, Isuzu, and Nissan to develop Level 4 autonomous vehicles, with the development process centered around its DRIVE Hyperion platform. Specifically, BYD, Geely, and Nissan are leveraging the platform's computing and sensor architecture, which is primed for mass production, to advance their next-generation Level 4 autonomous driving initiatives. Meanwhile, Isuzu and TIER IV are harnessing NVIDIA's AGX Thor chip to create Level 4 autonomous buses. Furthermore, NVIDIA unveiled the Halos OS unified safety architecture, the Alpamayo 1.5 open-source model, and the Omniverse NuRec simulation testing technology, all aimed at providing all-encompassing support for Level 4 autonomous driving.
