Rivian, the U.S.-based electric vehicle manufacturer, is set to commence deliveries of its R2 Performance series SUV in the spring of 2026, with a starting price of $57,990. The R2 Standard version is slated for market release by the end of 2027, promising a driving range exceeding 275 miles and carrying a price tag of $45,000. Rivian aims to broaden its customer reach with the introduction of the R2 series, positioning it as a direct competitor to Tesla's Model Y. Developed on a cutting-edge mid-size platform, the R2 offers a variety of powertrain configurations, comes equipped with Level 3 advanced driver-assistance systems, and has plans to incorporate LiDAR technology.
