On March 12, Hesai Technology revealed that its second-generation pure solid-state blind-spot-filling radar, the FTX, has been chosen as the designated supplier for the front-end mass production of Changan Automobile’s next-generation intelligent L3 platform models. When compared to its predecessor, the radar's resolution has seen a twofold-plus enhancement, accompanied by notable reductions in both size and weight. It boasts a 180°×140° field of view, facilitating accurate detection of low-lying obstacles and boosting perception in crucial L3 autonomous driving scenarios. Hesai’s FTX radar is slated to enter large-scale mass production and delivery in 2026, paving the way for the widespread adoption of L3-level autonomous driving technology.
