On March 10th, during a comparison between XPENG's advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) and Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system, He Xiaopeng remarked that each system boasts unique strengths. Specifically, XPENG's second-generation Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model outperforms Tesla's latest FSD in navigating narrow roads and handling interactive scenarios, thanks to its superior environmental perception and decision-making capabilities. Meanwhile, Tesla's FSD shines in reinforcement learning algorithms and long-distance pedestrian recognition, showcasing its prowess in complex urban driving conditions.

He Xiaopeng expressed optimism about XPENG's technological progress, stating that by the end of this year, the capabilities of XPENG's ADAS are expected to surge by 5 to 10 times compared to their current state, reaching genuine Level 4 software autonomy. This leap forward signifies a significant milestone in the evolution of autonomous driving technology, where vehicles can operate safely and efficiently without human intervention under most circumstances.

Furthermore, He Xiaopeng highlighted the synergistic role of policy, regulation, and technological advancement in accelerating the deployment of autonomous driving. He predicted that with concerted efforts from governments, industry stakeholders, and technology developers, the widespread adoption of Level 4 autonomous driving could occur within the next 1 to 3 years. Looking further ahead, he even speculated that the implementation of Level 5 autonomous driving, where vehicles can handle all driving tasks in any environment, might become a reality within the next five years, marking a transformative era in transportation.
